Many of you know Korey as Kornbread and know that he is a big part of our community. He volunteers to coach our youth in football, has worked decades as a first responder and firefighter, and would literally help anyone without question.
On November 6, 2025, Korey was on his way to work in Cashiers when, in the blink of an eye, his whole world was tragically changed. He had a seizure while driving and ended up in a head-on collision with another car. The driver of that car's life has also been thrown upside down drastically.
Korey will be unable to work for an extended period of time and it is indeterminate whether he will be able to drive again or not due to his very serious neurological condition that caused the accident. Being able to get our children to and from school, going to work, or simply going to the grocery store isn’t an option anymore for him. He is also going to be undergoing several new appointments to investigate the cause of his epileptic episode and for his injuries sustained in the accident.
Any help and prayers from the community that he so graciously contributes to would be appreciated. As his ex-wife and mother of his children, I can’t imagine a world without him in it. I’m so grateful he’s still here. Thank you!
