*Update*
Konner came home on June 15 from the NICU. As a family, it was the most exciting thing to happen all year. However, Konner contracted RSV, and was admitted back to the PICU on July 5. He was subsequently intubated for respiratory failure. He had gotten better and they were about to extubate. However, he aspirated into his lungs which caused a bacterial pneumonia. He has been fighting infections since then, and has not been able to get to a safe place to even trial extubation. He has been diagnosed ARDS with fibrosis, some doctors say he has pulmonary hypertension, but some say he does not but just responds to the treatments. At this point his father and I believe that a bigger hospital would offer him the best chance at a quality life. However, this hospital is 3 hours away. That would mean increased expenses for my already struggling family. Every dollar will count toward helping us fight for our son's life. And if you can't help financially please pray, share and help me raise awareness. We appreciate all who have prayed and been with us in this fight for Konner's life.
We are asking for help with travel and lodging.
If you can’t donate, please share our story. Awareness is power, and we need voices to stand up for children and families who are being ignored.
Thank you for every prayer, every share, and every donation.
My son Konner was born at 26 weeks in February. He is currently in the NICU. At the time, I was working and making decent money. We fully expected him to be coming home by his due date, and that does not look to be the case.
However, we are drained dry with all the trips back and forth (an hour away) and currently being down to only my husband's diesel truck for transportation. With Konner's recent setbacks making the already 3.5-month stay look to be even longer, I don't know how we will continue to do it and also keep diapers and necessities for my other children as well. I hate to ask anybody for anything, and if you can't give, we totally understand. We appreciate all the prayers we can get! If you can give, we would be forever grateful.
