Kona’s Story
Our beautiful Kona celebrated his 5th birthday on November 10. He is the sweetest, most patient caring dog I ever could have imagined in this life time.
Kona underwent surgery for a mast cell tumor removal on his upper lip in October 2025. Biopsy results showed that the tumor is a high grade 2, meaning that it was unpredictable as to whether it would metastasize and continue to regrow. From October 2024 to March 2025, Kona underwent 8 rounds of chemotherapy treatment. He has had bloodwork done with each round of chemo, and ultrasounds periodically to check for any potential growths on his internal organs. As of May 2025, the tumor of Kona’s face has not regrown and he is said to be in “remission.” He will continue to be monitored for any new or recurring tumors.
Kona is our golden ray of sunshine. We appreciate any assistance in helping to pay down our debts from his surgery and chemotherapy, as well as future treatments he may require.
