Medical History:

Kola Umarani has been battling a severe and complex form of ovarian cancer, specifically serous adenocarcinoma, which was first diagnosed in 2021. Her journey has been challenging, involving multiple rounds of treatment and surgery.

Treatments Undertaken:

1. Initial Diagnosis and Treatment (2021):

o Diagnosed with serous adenocarcinoma of the ovary.

o Underwent four cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT).

o Had an extensive surgical procedure that included a total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH), bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO), omentectomy, and bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection (PND).

o Followed by two cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy in June 2021.

2. Follow-Up and Recurrence:

o Despite initial treatments, a follow-up in October 2023 showed metabolically active lymph nodes, indicating a likely metastatic spread to other lymph nodes and possibly the lungs.

o Diagnosed as a case of recurrent ovarian cancer.

3. Further Treatment (up to early 2024):

o Received six cycles of chemotherapy with Paclitaxel and Carboplatin, combined with Bevacizumab until February 2024.

o PET-CT scans in March 2024 revealed ongoing activity in abdominal and pelvic lymph nodes, suggesting the cancer remained active despite aggressive treatment.
