My name is Kokouvi Akpakou, and earlier this year, in February 2024, I received the life-changing news that I have cancer. Since then, I have been undergoing both radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and I am still continuing with chemotherapy treatments. The journey has been incredibly tough, both physically and emotionally, and there have been many days when the pain and side effects have felt overwhelming.

The treatment has really beaten me down. I have been hospitalized six times already, and the constant pain and sickness have made it impossible for me to go to work. Not being able to work has added to the stress, as the medical bills and costs of medications keep piling up. Every day is a challenge, but I am doing my best to stay strong and keep fighting.
