Our hearts are shattered writing this, but we're asking for help for our baby, Koko Blu.
Koko is only 7 years old and has been a fighter his entire life. Since he was a puppy, he's lived with epilepsy. He takes 6 pills, twice a day, and has one seizure monthly. Yet he's always been the happiest most loving dog. He's spoiled with treats, home-cooked meals, and long walks. We've taken him all over New England, making memories everywhere we go. Halloween is especially our favorite, his birthday is in October, and we always celebrate him big.
We even had his very own bridge built to connect the house to the yard with a doggy door. His favorite place to lay.
On April 19th we rushed Koko to the ER at Angell Memorial Hospital (MSPCA) because he was not acting like himself. We were told he had a large mass on his spleen and had to make an impossible decision: say goodbye or try to save him.
We chose to fight.
Koko underwent emergency surgery, costing over $10,000. A few days later, we got devastating news- Koko has an aggressive cancer called hemangiosarcoma.
W/o treatment, this cancer can start spreading in as little as 2 weeks. Our only option to give him more time is chemotherapy. Each treatment is about $2,000, and his doctor is recommending 5 treatments. We're hoping to start chemo in early May as soon as he recovers from surgery.
We never imagined that after everything he's already overcome with epilepsy, cancer would be what we're facing now.
Koko is our family, our comfort, our everything. Anyone who knows us knows how deeply he's loved.
If you can donate, share, or keep Koko in your prayers, it would mean the world to us. Every bit helps us give him more time, more love, more walks, and hopefully at least one more birthday in October.
Any funds raised beyond Koko's medical needs will be donated to MSPCA - Angell Animal Medical Center, who have taken such incredible care of him since he was a puppy. We are so grateful for everything they've done for our boy.
Thank you for supporting Koko ❤️
