Imagine fleeing hardship, arriving in the U.S. legally with your young children, only to have your husband suddenly taken away and locked in detention for months—treated like a criminal without cause. This is the reality for a courageous mother of two young children, whose husband was detained by ICE despite having entered the U.S. with full documentation two years ago.

In court, the judge denied him bail, labeling him a "flight risk"—even though his entire life is here. His only "risk"? Being a devoted father and husband trying to build a better future for his family.

With no path forward and their resources drained, his wife has made the heartbreaking decision to self-deport, not because she wants to, but because the system has left her with no other option. She and her children will board a flight to Pakistan, where they’ll be reunited with their husband and father—not in freedom, but in forced exile.

After three months in ICE detention, her husband will be taken directly from the facility to the airport and reunited with his children at the gate of their flight. There will be no time to gather belongings, no farewells, no closure—only heartbreak and a long road ahead.
