Support Kody Moody's Fight for Recovery

We are reaching out to ask for your support and prayers for our dear friend, Kody Moody. Kody is not only a beloved father, partner, and friend, but he is also now facing the greatest battle of his life. Kody has been in the hospital for over 80 days, undergoing multiple surgeries and amputations with still more to come. Despite his death-defying strength and positive spirit, the financial burden of medical treatments and his forever changed way of life is immense. This GoFundMe aims to provide financial support for Kody, allowing him to focus on his health and recovery without the added stress of mounting medical bills and his new reality.

Kody Moody is 29 years old, from Indiana but now living in Port Charlotte, Florida with his fiancé, Heidi Paldrmann. Kody is a lead cell tower technician, but above that, he is the loving father of two wonderful little boys. He is known for his compassion, loyalty, and ability to uplift those around him. He is a motorcycle enthusiast and lover of the sun and sea. However, in September, Kody's reality was forever changed. After a minor operation on his right arm, Kody's wound became infected and began to go septic. Within hours of starting to feel ill, he was in a coma and hanging on for life. For multiple days, we truly did not believe he was going to survive. After two weeks in a coma and enduring direct hits from two hurricanes, Kody started to come back to us. However, the reality of what his body had endured was just coming to light. Complete organ shutdown had caused his arms and legs to go necrotic. The doctors in Florida saw no other option but to amputate all four limbs at the elbows and knees. Kody, being the fighter he is, said no to that option. Through a miraculous turn of events, he discovered a doctor that believed in the possibility of a different outcome. Since mid-October, Kody has been undergoing experimental shockwave therapy and hyperbaric chamber treatments. The good news is he has been able to keep most of his right hand. The tragic news is, after multiple rounds of amputations, he lost both feet above the ankle and his left arm above the wrist. It's impossible to express the amount of pain and suffering Kody has endured, and this is not the end. There are countless more surgeries to come to close all the wounds and years of physical therapy ahead. Every aspect of Kody's life will be different from now on. He will need medical care for the rest of his life and constant aid from those around him.
