Support Kody Detwiler's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On April 8, 2024, Kody Detwiler was involved in an ATV accident. He was life flighted to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN with a traumatic brain injury. They performed an emergency craniotomy and removed a piece of his skull to save his life. Being on life support, Kody's wishes were to donate his organs. When we tried this, his heart stayed strong. Lutheran hospital then sent him home on hospice. His mother revoked hospice due to him showing improvement. He was then transferred to St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis, IN where he continued to show improvement. Then transferred to Grand Lake healthcare for rehabilitation. He showed great potential, he was then transferred to Dodd hospital in Columbus, OH. Still showing improvement, he went to the Meadows of Delphos, OH.

Due to his health insurance lapsing, they have now sent him home to his mother. His Medicaid application has been turned in and pending for three months. His mother is not receiving any type of medical financial help. Although he did receive short term disability payments, his girlfriend Brooke stole his bank information and has stolen nearly $2,000 and is no longer in contact with the family to pay it back. With Kody being home, we would all greatly appreciate any little bit of help with the cost of his medical treatment and supplies he needs. He needs 24-hour care at this time. We are also needing help saving for his surgery to replace his brain flap that was taken out during the craniotomy. He also needs to have his feeding tube removed. Thank you, and may God bless you all!
