We are a family that generally does not ask for assistance. However, this past week's recent experience with our dear pup Koda has led us to reach out and ask for help.

Koda Kane, our beloved pup, an emotional support dog to our 9-year-old who has 5 diagnoses himself, turned 2 on April 29th, went lethargic on Sunday. We thought he must have gotten into something in the yard, as he was refusing food, then water, and vomiting and diarrhea started on Tuesday. As each day passed from Sunday, he got worse and worse. We called the vet and FINALLY got an appointment on Thursday morning, as they felt he must have gotten into something, it was not an emergency, and it would pass. By the time we were ready to head to the vet, Koda at this point was barely moving, and Robert had to carry him into and out of the car, as well as into and out of the vet and into the ER. We learned at the vet after extensive testing that he was in kidney failure with the possibility of having Addison's Disease. How could this even be possible? He is just a BABY! Our vet sent us to our 24-hour ER for pets to do even more extensive testing. We arrived at the ER, and the team was amazing; they went right to work, working on Koda from the floor. While on the floor, within 20 minutes of arriving, they had to move him onto a table, and things got bad really fast. His heart rate and blood pressure dropped, and he started coding. After tons of teamwork, they were able to stabilize him; however, he was still in critical condition. Each moment after that, he had ups where his heart rate would increase slightly, then huge downs where it would dip again. We then finally started seeing slight improvement, and our hearts were beaming as we thought we got through this, now just recovery. Well, we were wrong, as he then started twitching, with each twitch even stronger, where his whole body would jump. His eyes were stagnant. Again, the wonderful team jumped into action to save this baby pup. Koda at this point was also now hypoglycemic. How was this happening? Just a year ago, we lost our beloved cat Nala, and a year later, we may be losing our beloved dog. As of today, Koda is still at the ER and getting better each day. However, saving his life was a cost that the family didn't think would be a thing for such a young pup. Koda has been diagnosed with Addison's Disease and will be on meds for the rest of his life. Koda was in Addisonian Crisis, and we almost lost him. We are so thankful he is still here.

We are asking for help paying his hospital bill. Any amount, big or small, helps, and our family is very thankful for your help.

Please also keep Koda and our family in your prayers.
