Hi friends, neighbors, and kind strangers,

We’re reaching out because our family is going through a particularly tough time. Our beloved rescue pup, Kobe, has been in the hospital for the past week battling a life-threatening condition. After a rollercoaster of tests and uncertainty as his condition rapidly worsened, vets discovered he needed a rare and complex surgery to remove his gallbladder, clear his bile duct, and place a stent in his stomach. We're thrilled to say that the surgery seems to have gone well according to the veterinarians, but he will require ongoing care, hospital follow-ups, lifelong medication, and careful monitoring for the rest of his life. We know pets love to find the worst time for these kinds of things to happen, and ours certainly has. With us preparing for our first baby, who is due to join us a little over a month from now, we’ve been particularly strained by the mounting medical expenses.

Kobe is an integral part of our family. We adopted him 4 years ago and have watched him transform from a neglected, terrified dog into the sweetest and most affectionate pup we have ever had. He’s been a source of constant comfort, especially during tough times, including my time on active-duty military service. His sweet spirit and cheerful "woos" have brightened not only our lives, but the lives of many who have met him. If you’re able and willing, we would be beyond grateful for any support you can give to help cover Kobe’s mounting medical costs.
