Support Koah's Recovery

Hello,

I am raising funds for my cousin, Tate, and his wife, Shelby, as their 11-month-old daughter, Koah, has been hospitalized for the past week and a half with RSV and pneumonia.

On December 26th, Tate and Shelby brought Koah to Children’s Hospital in St. Paul after they thought a persistent cold had worsened. Once at the hospital, Koah’s condition rapidly declined, and she was admitted to the PICU.

Her situation became critical as her pneumonia worsened, and on December 29th, Koah was intubated and placed on maximum ventilator settings to support her little lungs. It was a terrifying and emotional time for the family as they faced so much uncertainty.

Thankfully, on January 2nd, we finally received hopeful news. Koah’s lungs showed significant improvement, and her ventilator settings were reduced to the minimum.

As of today (1/7), Koah was extubated!! We are so grateful for this progress.

While this step in the right direction brings a lot of hope, Tate and Shelby are still working to navigate this challenging time. They remain by Koah’s side day and night while also being there for their 3-year-old son, Brecken. Balancing their time between the hospital and being present for Brecken, all while managing the financial strain of mounting medical bills and daily expenses, has placed a burden on their family.

In addition, Tate has taken time off work to protect Koah during this critical period and limit her exposure to germs, as any new infection could be devastating to her recovery.

I would love to help alleviate some of this stress so Tate and Shelby can focus entirely on Koah’s recovery. Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in helping Tate and Shelby get through this difficult time.
