Support Kǫ' (fire) Film funding by Albert Haskie

Ya'at'eeh everyone,
I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to realize my vision for a groundbreaking project and to extend support to my dedicated crew members. Our endeavor, the "Kǫ' (Fire) Film," holds profound significance as it has been commissioned by the Navajo Nation in collaboration with Navajo Nation TV and Film. Our mission is to craft an authentic Navajo film, by Navajos and for Navajos, emphasizing the cultural authenticity by ensuring 80% of the dialogue is in Navajo; a feat we've surpassed with 99% Navajo dialogue. It is a source of immense pride for us to have our film selected by our nation.
Our narrative delves into the resilience of Diné individuals in navigating the complexities of mental health. I've chosen the perspective of a hastiin (man) as it offers a crucial lens through which we can understand the challenges faced by our elders, our cheii’s and nali’s (grandparents), nizhe’é's (your fathers), and their strategies for maintaining mental well-being. It is my fervent desire to explore this theme with depth and nuance.
I am proud to share that our cast and crew are entirely indigenous, aligning with Navajo TV and Film's commitment to boosting the Navajo economy and ensuring equitable compensation for all involved.
I humbly appeal to your generosity to help us establish a new standard for Navajo language cinema. We are driven by the belief that as Diné people, we deserve nothing but the finest. Join us in realizing this vision and let's make history together.
In gratitude for your support, every donor will be prominently acknowledged in the film credits under the category of "GoFundMe Supporters."
Thank you for being part of our journey.
