Support “Knight and the Snail” - A Paper Short Film

I'm Julian Curi, aka Righteous Robot, and I’m making a medieval morality tale out of paper.

I grew up pretty sheltered. Religion taught me that the story of my life was written long ago, and was better than anything I could wish for myself. All I had to do was behave and believe, and I could claim that destiny.

Believing was easy. Behaving… not so much.

So I poured myself into fiction and fantasy that convinced me that any day, some benevolent wizard would pluck me from my life, and welcome me to my potential.

But as an adult, I’ve been more than let down by these narratives. I’ve seen a lot of people do a lot of bad things in the name of “destiny”, and even more do nothing - waiting their whole lives for a wizard to start their story.

With “Knight and the Snail”, I want to explore my pull toward destiny against the push of modern life. I want to make the kind of film I wish I saw when I was younger. The kind of story that says “you aren’t what you wish for. You’re what you do to get it.”
