Hi I’m Kiya! On August 6th 2023 I became chronically ill. I have since been diagnosed with severe Gastroparesis, Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome, Crohns, and many other conditions, as well as having two of my organs having serious problems and no longer working properly. Those led to becoming severely malnourished and losing my ability to eat. I have a long journey ahead of me. December 2nd I had a feeding tube placed in my stomach to be able to hopefully have proper nutrition again. This surgery alone will cost me more than I make in an entire year between surgery costs, medical supplies, feeding tube formula, and at home health care. Because of the surgery, recovery, and all the appointments that will be following this, I will not be able to work as much as before while I navigate this journey. I currently work full time and live on my own, and this is going to have a massive impact on me financially. I don’t know what the future looks like, but I’m trying to fight to be as healthy as possible again and that’s going to take a lot of medical intervention to keep me going. I’m going to keep on fighting and to “live for the hope of it all” as Taylor Swift says. I’d be endlessly grateful for any help.
