Support Kittitas SaR: Heroes of Ric's Rescue
Donation protected
Kittitas County Search and Rescue played a vital role in Ric's rescue on July 6th.
The operation required exquisite inter-agency coordination including Kittitas Sherriff's Office, King County Air Support, Guardian 2 flight crew, and the team at Harbor view Hospital. As a family, we remain forever indebted to each of these teams for their skill, courage, and teamwork. Especially the Kittas SaR crew, which is a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
So many of you have asked how you can help.
Here's how:
Please consider donating whatever you might have spent on dinner or flowers for us to the Kittitas SaR team.
We are bowled over by the depth and sweetness of our community. It's our intention to share this with the men and women who left their own families on a holiday weekend at a moment's notice and rushed into the mountains to help. And to support them with the gear and goodwill to help the next person who needs it.
Logistics & Guidance:
1. Amount: Our goal is participation. No amount is too small. Seriously.
2. Words: If you are open to it, please share a few words of thanks and encouragement for the SaR team. We'll print them out and make sure all notes make it to them.
3. Delivery: Our goal is to deliver all donations via check, directly to the SaR volunteer crew leads when we meet them at their August meeting. By then Ric will be able to tolerate the drive to Cle Elum and shake their hands standing on his own.
As of this posting, we couldn't confirm whether Kittias SaR is set up to receive donations directly from GoFundMe. To ensure the contributions will reach the right team, we're working directly with the Deputy who coordinated Ric's retrieval to ensure all gifts get to the right place.
