Support Kishori's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
Dear Friends of Kishori Koepsell,

This is Beth McCleary and Steph Stevenson, both long time friends of Kishori's. We know Kishori as a robust and energetic worker, for Baba Muktananda, for Gurumayi, for the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center of Monterey, CA, for her friends and family, and for her home organization and moving business. She generously shares her experiences of love, insight, organization and the Siddha Yoga Gurus whenever I see her, and it is delightful.

Due to an accident in January, Kishori is unable to work to meet her financial obligations.

On January 31 she fell in a parking lot near her home in Monterey, California and broke her left shoulder. A shoulder replacement was necessary and was performed a few weeks later by a gracious and competent surgeon at CHOMP (Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula).

Shoulder replacements require the longest recovery of any joint replacement and, according to her surgeon, a return to full mobility can take years. Because of this, we don't expect her to be able to work through at least June 30, 2025 and possibly beyond that time.

Kishori’s inability to work to pay her bills is the most timely and distressing issue for her now. That is saying a lot, as she has also had incredible pain that I would not wish on anyone, and is now learning to walk without falling backwards due to vestibular/balance issues that require physical therapy. The past 6 weeks of pain medications have caused her extreme nausea, sleepiness and loss of appetite - sometimes all at once and to a severe degree.

Our goal is to alleviate some of her financial stress by covering costs that begin with her upcoming discharge date, which is now set for Friday, March 28. She needs funds to cover the moderate expenses through the time when she can start working again.

Her friends and family have worked for weeks to help her find the short term care facility at Westland House, pay her bills and apply for Medicare, provide company, and send post-surgery easy-on outfits and extra vegetarian foods when the facility food gets monotonous.

However we are now at an impasse with how to pay for several months of needed healing after she leaves the facility.

Any donation you can offer will help her with these needs, and is much appreciated. Your donation would especially cover:

  • Her living expenses for a few months; and
  • Part time home care helpers for a few months until she regains better use of her arm and can walk without falling backwards.
  • Other medical/mobility support purchases, moving and storage clearing costs.

Thank you for reading this and thank you as well for your donation, love and or blessings.
Beth and Steph
