Support Kirk's Faith-Deepening Journey

Hello friends, family, students, classmates, parents, teachers, coworkers, etc. and everyone else in my life!

This summer I am going to be taking an elective class through Asbury Theological Seminary that's the last class I'll be required to take for my degree (Master of Arts in Theological and Biblical Foundations). I feel led to take a class taught by Dr. James Thobaben (Dean of the Philosophy Department at Asbury) called Pilgrimage: Spiritual Formation and Morality. I believe this class will help me capitalize the opportunity I have gotten to spend pursuing a degree at Asbury Theological Seminary as well as working with Christ Church Memphis with the student ministries department as a Wesleyan Fellow.

The main requirement for the class is that I have to take a 4-6 day Christian pilgrimage where I will not only study the spiritual, social/cultural interpretations of pilgrimage (within the founding of Protestantism vs Catholicism) but also seek to deepen my faith, and experience spiritual transformation through a journey to a sacred place.

As I embark on this exciting opportunity because I'm going to have to pay for the travel expenses, I’m looking for people to help supplement the cost of the trip. As of right now I'm looking to raise approximately $3000. I will journey on either the Camino de Santiago in Spain or the Crough Patrick in Ireland.

The money will account for all travel expenses including airfare, lodging and equipment. Even if you are not able to contribute financially, I ask that you would pray for me at this time as I am stepping out in faith into the unknown.
