Hello, my name is Ava Trent. I am making this GoFundMe to help financially support my family after my father was in a horrible car accident the night of May 9th. We believe that something broke within the truck, causing him to veer off the road directly into a tree. After being found slipping in and out of consciousness, he was rushed to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. As a result of the accident, my father has a broken femur, 2 fractured vertebrae, several fractured ribs, a lacerated lung, bruised spleen, abdomen, and liver, and lacerations on both hands, his right arm, and the top of his head. Due to his injuries, my father will not be able to work for several months to a year while he pushes through the long recovery journey ahead of him. During this time, my mother is struggling to figure out how she will be able to balance taking care of him full-time and working to support my brothers as well as being able to afford all of the medical bills, physical therapy, and other important expenses that this journey will take.

My father is one of the funniest and most generous people you'll ever meet. He's an incredible husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend. He is the most hardworking man that I know, and even thinking about being without work is stressing him out beyond belief. I feel that it is my job as his daughter to reach out for support during this incredibly difficult time. We appreciate any support we can get, and appreciate all of the kind messages and prayers from our loved ones during this time.
