Support Kira's Journey to Walk Again
Donation protected

Kira is a 17 year old girl who loves riding horses and recently endured a life-changing motocross accident.
On October 5th 2024, Kira was involved in a serious motocross accident and was immediately life-flighted to Duke Hospital. She suffered a broken tibial plateau, fibula, and hand.
After the accident, Kira underwent an initial surgery to have an external fixator placed to stabilize her injuries, but soon after, she developed compartment syndrome, a dangerous condition that could have been fatal. Kira endured extreme pain, dangerously high blood pressure, a sporadic heart rate that soared to over 190 beats per minute, and low oxygen levels.
Thanks to the fast intervention of her medical team, she survived this critical complication.
She later underwent a second surgery where screws and plates were inserted into her entire lower right leg and left hand.
Kira was hospitalized in the orthopedic trauma unit battling through pain and multiple complications.
Now, as she begins her long road to recovery, our family faces overwhelming medical expenses. Kira requires a home health aide to assist with daily needs during her rehabilitation. The severity of her injuries means she will need a year worth of rehabilitation, continuous follow-up appointments, and home care to support her mobility and healing in hopes that she will be able to walk again without assistance.
The costs of her surgeries, hospitalization, and ongoing care far exceed what insurance will cover. We are asking for your support to help Kira get the care she needs at home and ensure she has the resources to fully recover. All donations will be used towards medical bills, medical supplies for home, intensive physical therapy and her home health aide she will need daily.
Kira has shown incredible resilience and has remained positive. We appreciate all of your love, prayers, and support. We will continue to update you on Kira's progress as we go through this journey.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness!
