Hello! I'm Mark. I was blessed to help rescue Kira and support Mary Morvant with her rehabilitation and recovery-funded by Mary and other kind strangers. As a puppy, Kira was diagnosed with Megaesophagus, a condition where the esophagus enlarges and loses its ability to move food properly. She must be elevated in a specially designed chair for feeding and for periods of time afterward. There are several daily medications that manage her reflux, regurgitation, and other related needs. Over these months, Mary Morvant has gone to great personal expense, stabilizing her feeding routine, maintaining the necessary monthly medications, and managing her limited physical exercise. Because she requires such specialized care and expense, it seemed likely that she would never find her furever home. Miracles abound! Kira has found a wonderful home, in the cool climate of PA, with a ME expert. BONUS: she will have a sibling, another ME shepherd. There is no way we could have imagined such a perfect situation for our sweet girl. We need help with her transition care and her transport.
