In October, my sister Kira experienced a life-changing accident when she fell and broke her leg. She underwent surgery and is still unable to put any weight on her leg, facing more surgery and a long road of physical therapy ahead. Just as she was adjusting to her new reality, tragedy struck again—on December 12, 2025, her husband Matt was attacked at work and suffered a broken femur. He has already had surgery and, like Kira, faces a lengthy and challenging recovery.
Kira and Matt have always been each other's primary caregivers, but now, with both of them injured, daily life has become incredibly difficult. While we hope that workman’s comp will provide some assistance for Matt, the immediate needs are overwhelming. Their daughter and her boyfriend are doing everything they can to help, but with full-time jobs, they can only do so much. The rest of our family lives hours away and wishes desperately that we could be there more often.
Any donations will go directly toward groceries, medical bills, and deliveries for essential items that Kira and Matt need while they recover. If you know my sister, you know she is one of the kindest, most nurturing people in the world—always putting others first and giving everything she has. Now, she needs help. Your support, no matter the amount, will make a real difference in their lives during this difficult time. Thank you for considering a donation and for keeping Kira and Matt in your thoughts.
