Meet our friend Kino....

We met Kino in 1999 at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He was our 10-year-old patient who resided in our hospital.

Inside the hospital, Kino lit up our world with his smile, his personality, and his charm.

Every year for his birthday, Kino got one wish...

One year it was to leave the hospital for a night to go to a Dodger Game and have a Dodger Dog.

The following year, Kino's wish was to go to Disneyland with his best friend he met in the hospital.

After living in the hospital for 3 years, Kino finally went home.

But Kino always stayed in contact with his hospital family.

Recently, we learned some bad news from Kino.

He has kidney cancer and he needs surgery.
