Hi my name is Robert and I’m here to ask for help for my dog King. He’s a beautiful German Shepherd and only 2 1/2 years old. He recently started having seizures and we are trying to get things under control. His doctor prescribed medication but he’s had 2 clusters of seizures in the last 4 days. He was hospitalized for 24 hours after the first cluster and that bill alone was $3,300. He was stabilized and came home while waiting for blood results but it happened again this morning. We are back at the hospital, bloodwork came back and the levels of meds in him are way below the expected level. He hasn’t metabolized the dosage he’s been on as they hoped, so they need to keep him here another 24-48 hours. The plan is to I.V. load the medication to bring the levels up as quickly as possible but it’s going to be expensive and I sincerely need help. They would like to do a neuro blood panel if this doesn’t work to rule out any organisms that could be causing this such as Lyme Disease, etc. He could possibly need a neuro consult and advanced imaging if it comes to that. But we’re all hoping this super dose of meds does the trick. I appreciate any donations anyone could make toward King’s care. And if you could please boost this by sharing, that would be amazing.
