Update on Kim’s Recovery
We’re happy to share that Kim is continuing to recover from pneumococcal pneumonia and sepsis. Her kidneys are recovering well, and she is also making steady progress mentally. She’s now able to walk short distances and is keeping food down. While she is still very tired, overall she is moving in a positive direction and gaining strength each day.
We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love, generous donations, and continued thoughts and prayers. Your support has meant so much to Kim and our entire family—thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Kim has always been a hard worker, but the recent wave of AI-driven layoffs in the Minneapolis area hit her hard. After losing her IT job, she found herself starting over and struggling to make ends meet. Despite her best efforts, the challenges kept coming, and her health began to suffer as well.
Recently, Kim was hospitalized with pneumonia and a severe blood infection. The illness caused her kidneys to shut down and led to complications with her liver. While the pneumonia is improving, she now needs dialysis to help her kidneys recover. Kim is currently on a ventilator, but she is slowly getting stronger and doctors are hopeful she will soon be able to breathe on her own again. With all of these health challenges, Kim will need to be off work for at least a month, and unfortunately, she has no one to help her with her living expenses during this difficult time.
This GoFundMe is being set up to help bridge the gap for Kim while she recovers at home. Your support will help her cover rent, utilities, and other essentials so she can focus on healing. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to Kim and her family. Thank you for considering a donation and for keeping Kim in your thoughts as she works toward recovery.
