He finally succumbed to his Cancer after fighting and struggling and suffering for months. He died peacefully with his daughter (Kyla) and his two best cats (Carmen and Tina) by his side. I still need some financial help with the final arrangements. If anyone is able to donate I would really appreciate the help. I will be posting an official obituary on Bacas funeral home website in las cruces and will be having a Memorial on Wednesday, October 16th.
Thank you to everyone who has been supportive during this tremendously difficult time.
ORIGINAL POST:
My father Kim Johnson has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer and is rapidly approaching the end of his life. The doctors have said there is nothing further they can do, no procedures or chemo, or medications that are going to change his prognosis or extend his life. My dad is currently under hospice care and I am helping him through his last days to be comfortable at home.
He has endured so much suffering with this disease and it has taken such a toll on him. His wish is to die peacefully at home with his family and his cats who are like children to him.
My dad has always been my hero, I've always looked up to him and felt loved and adored by him. No matter what the circumstances were, I always knew my dad loved me. Now has come the time where I have become his fulltime caregiver and he is on Hospice care.
I am so very thankful for my family and friends who have been helping and supporting us in so many ways. At a time like this, family and friends are everything.
Although we have some help with some things, we are in great need of money to help fund his funeral expenses. My dads condition progressed so quickly to terminal. I have not been able to work for several months due to the fulltime care needed for my father. I am asking for donations so that I can give my dad a decent funeral and honor his memory and what he has meant to me.
He has fought so long and hard and now is the time for him to rest peacefully.
Thank you so much for your love and support. Sometimes when we need it, its very hard to ask.
