Support during medical treatments for Kimber (My Mom)
Please consider supporting Kimber Holmes during a time of healing.
On Tuesday, January 13th during a colonoscopy procedure to help diagnose a recently noticed elimination issue she has been experiencing since October, a tumor was identified blocking my mother’s rectum. The following morning she was emitted to the ER to have a CT scan due to severe swelling, and nausea over night. The CT scan showed a non metastasized tumor the size of a tennis ball, forcing an emergency surgery to be scheduled for early Thursday morning to prevent the rupture of her colon. During the surgery an ostomy bag was placed, as well as a port in her upper chest for chemo, and radiation treatments to shrink the tumor before another surgery can be performed to remove the tumor. A biopsy was taken during the colonoscopy which came back benign, but another biopsy will be taken through the exposed stoma next week to make sure it is non-cancerous which would be the best case scenario. It will take at least 4 months and an additional 3 surgeries during this healing process before the ostomy bag is removed. At this time she is unable to teach her fitness classes which is her current primary source of income. I graciously ask if you are able to help support my mother in anyway. Funds will be used for basic living expenses, travel to treatments, and the incorporation of other natural healing modalities not covered by insurance. We are not currently doing a meal train as her diet is very strictly limited and she is unable to eat most solid foods during this time. If you are able to support in anyway and share with others who know and love my mother we are tremendously grateful. I was able to fly home on Saturday and bring her home today and will be helping her until I have to leave on Thursday. We will provide updates as they become available during her treatments so our loved ones can know how she’s doing.
