Hi, my name is Kimberly.

I was handed a diagnosis of an Aggressive Advanced inoperable Adenocarcinoma, not too common for someone my age. Treatment has included multiple surgeries, numerous chemotherapies, chemoradiations, and immunotherapy.

I am currently stable without progression. Unfortunately, without a cure. Treatment in my situation is to prolong survival and quality of life. I am hopeful new treatments or trials can change that outcome. My oncologist always said he’d try to get me at least 10 years. I have wholeheartedly put my faith in him, his expertise and magic as I am still here. I am staying positive and hoping for many more years.

Previously, I did not turn to fundraising hoping for the best. I’ve since encountered health issues from all the treatments, nervous system, lung damage and liver. Independent of the effects of treatment, I was diagnosed with long-term Lyme, my appendix burst, then pneumonia. I feel like I’ve had no time to heal or recuperate. I’m exhausted in every way imaginable.

At this point, I’m navigating through this cancer journey trying my best to manage the many challenges my family faces financially and emotionally while trying to also shelter my children from the woe of it all. Cancer has changed me, I don’t even recognize myself. Everything from financial burden to physical and emotional well-being is a struggle. I feel defeated in many ways. This is why I have reached out, my family could really use a “village” right now.
