My mother, Kimberly, has always been the strongest person I know. She has worked in home care, group homes, and raised me and my four siblings with my dad, Doug. My mom always puts others' needs in front of her own, and now she needs to put herself first. Recently, she has been diagnosed with three rare and painful vein disorders that are causing blockages: Nutcracker Syndrome, Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, and May-Thurner Syndrome. With her complicated diagnosis, she is lucky to have found doctors who are preparing to perform a major surgery to relieve her painful symptoms. She will spend a week in the hospital followed by a long recovery at home. During this time, she will be out of work, and my father will be stepping back from his work to care for her and our family. With this procedure putting huge financial and emotional strain, I hope to relieve some of that burden so that my mom can finally put herself first and not worry about medical and household expenses. Thank you for allowing me to share my mom’s story. Any and all support is appreciated.
