Support Kimberly through Metastatic Breast Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Kimberly Guzman Lydick. I have Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) in my lungs.

I was diagnosed with ABC (Advanced Breast Cancer) in December 2022. My prognosis is not good (less than 2 years to live from 12/2022), but I choose to live in a different space of HOPE & MIRACLES.

Quick BC Education: there's typically 3 types of breast cancer you can get. There's Her+ or -, Estrogen+ or -, or Triple Negative. Triple Negative means it's not + or - for estrogen or progesterone and is invasive and harder to treat.

My cancer is triple negative and highly aggressive. There's not much I can do to fight it and not many trials or drugs to keep throwing at it. At this time we're putting me through as much chemo as my body can handle. It's been 30 doses so far since January and although there's been some side effects I try not to dwell on them much. I focus on the positive and the good things God helps me see, feel or experience every day.

My adult daughters, Kaelynn, Jenna and my husband Daniel are my rocks. I am blessed with a large support system and that's what helps me keep going and why I'm reaching out now.

When you tell someone you have cancer they usually respond in a few ways; 1) Tell me how I can help. 2) What can I do for you? 3) What do you need? 4) I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I usually don't tell anyone how they can help because how do you ask someone help pay your bills? However, it's come to a head and I don't want to leave my family in debt or myself in debt if I make it through this.

I owe medical providers over $9,000 and it has become overwhelming.

All funds raised will be used to pay my medical providers, medical care & costs of daily living.

My employer doubled my out of pocket costs this year to $12,000 per year. As soon as January hit I'll owe another $12,000 to keep fighting this disease.

Two days ago, on January 19, 2024, I found out my cancer has spread to my brain, I have fluid around the tumors, I have a bulging disc in my neck, and they still need to do a spinal tap to check for cancer cells in my spinal column. I am in quite a bit of pain including a migraine that started Dec. 29th and hasn't stopped.

If you can help, in any way possible, please donate whatever you can.

Community is exceptionally important when you are fighting a deadly disease. I am so grateful to my school, church, family, girl scout, and friend communities for all your support: personally, physically, spiritually, and financially. You all are amazing and I couldn't ask for a better life than the one I am living despite my current illness.

Also, one day, whenever that may be, please donate to Advanced Breast Cancer Research for Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). Keep the research going! We have to find better cures for my disease. Maybe donate every year on my birthday, March 31st. Set it up on your calendar as a reminder or donate blood. That would be a great way to honor me and all triple negative cancer patients. Thank you all. I love you dearly! God Bless You!! <3
