Support Kimberly During Her Breast Cancer Journey
Donation protected
This year started off with a lump that would change our lives. My little sister Kimberly was diagnosed with invasive ductile breast cancer.
Her suspicion that something was wrong started on January 1, and by February 7 it was confirmed. She will receive a bilateral mastectomy with lymph node biopsy on April 9. We are learning that there are treatment options but these things unfold one step at a time, so we won't yet know the next details until the surgery results are back. As so many have said, cancer is a journey.
At this point, even before the big events, thousands of dollars of medical bills are rolling in, and she has to take substantial time away from the family business. Her loving husband Pedro is also facing taking a lot of time off to be at her side. Their two teenage boys Sam and Kelsey are committed to helping their mom get through the worst of it with their unfailing sense of humor and thoughtfulness.
If you know my sis, you know she has a heart of gold. She has saved countless (literally thousands) of animals in her work both independently and at her former position with the Humane Society. She shows up in big ways for her family and friends. She mentors people who are going through it. She loves fiercely, she lives in alignment with her values and doing what is right, and she not only believes in helping people and animals, but she consistently and quietly lives her life showing up for others in need.
And now she needs US. Our family is humbly asking for your help to get my sis through the thick of this by contributing toward her expenses. May your kindness be returned to you a thousand-fold.
