Thank you for visiting this page! My name is Lori Albert and I have started this page for my sister, Kim Wagnor.
Late fall, Kim started noticing some changes in her eyesight. The changes got progressively worse, and she was finally able to get into the ophthalmologist. There, she found out she has some nerve damage in her eyes. They quickly ordered some imaging and determined she has a brain tumor. It is called a Craniopharyngioma, and (which is fairly rare) and that is a solid mass. Also there is a cyst called Rathke cleft cyst. Currently she is unable to drive due to her poor eyesight and doing daily activities have become a struggle.
Kim has already had a lot of testing and imaging done and just had an appointment with a neurosurgeon. He has built a team with the endocrinologist and ENT doctors. They will go in first and drain the cyst. Once that is done, she will have more imaging and then surgery going not the side of her skull to remove the tumor. Her work has been super supportive and has already approved her medical leave. Things are moving quickly and that is good.
With all of this, the medical bills are already starting to come in. Yes, she has medical insurance, but it doesn’t cover everything. Plus, Kim is a single mom! All of this is daunting! The unknown is scary. BUT we know the ultimate healer and provider! We are facing this medical crisis with hope and togetherness as a family. If you feel led to help ease some of the financial burden, we greatly appreciate it! But most of all, please say some prayers. If you would like to directly donate to Kim she has Venmo, Zelle, and cashapp.
***1/15/226 Update***
Kim was able to see the neurosurgeon yesterday. There have been consults with numerous Drs in Dallas and out of state!! Surgery is set for TUESDAY!!! January 20th is the big day!! The Drs are hopeful they will be able to do everything with the one surgery. She will be in ICU a couple of days for close monitoring and in the hospital for the remainder of the week. Through all of this don't forget to keep the kids in your prayers!! I have set up a meal schedule for them. We can't thank you enough for all the prayers, calls, texts, and well wishes. Will be updating in the upcoming days.
