Support Kim Waber During Her Fight Against Breast Cancer

On the morning of Thursday April 18th, Kim got a life changing phone call.

She had recently had some appointments for woman’s health and they called with the results from a biopsy. Her world went still as she was told that she has stage 0 breast cancer. We have never heard of stage 0 until that day. It is the earliest form of breast cancer and the soonest you can detect. We are thanking God that she did her mammogram at the perfect timing to find this cancer and not miss it too early or see it too late. Kim had an appointment the very same day to go over the plan & schedule surgery for a double mastectomy. She will have surgery April 30th and depending how things go after surgery possible radiation. We are praying for NO radiation!

Kim currently works for GRIC where she works with the kids in the alternate school. She also works for the Winchester park department in the summer time while she’s off work from the school. Kim is the care giver and sole provider for her two grandsons.

Due to the cancer/surgery Kim will be off work the rest of the school year and from her summer job for awhile to recover, as well as several follow ups, and possibly other treatment. The last thing we want her to worry about is finances. If you know Kim, you know she is the most selfless & giving person you will ever meet. If you’re hungry she will feed you. If you need something, she’d give you her last dollar. If you need a babysitter she has got you. Her love for people, especially kids is unmatched.

Kim is also a worrier, the last thing we want for her, is to worry how she will care for the boys or pay her bills while she should be healing.
