For the past five years, the Bench family has faced a series of challenging health crises. Many in our community have asked how they can help during this difficult time. This GoFundMe has been created to provide a way for those who wish to offer support.

- Five years ago: Troy was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. A successful reconstructive surgery gave him more time with his loved ones.
- One year ago: Kim was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She underwent successful surgery to remove it. However, despite the surgery's success, Kim faced a challenging recovery process and had to relearn how to walk.
- Nine months ago: Troy's cancer spread to his lung, requiring another surgery. This operation left him with intense vertigo, an infection, and only one lung. Kim became his primary caretaker.
- Several days ago: Kim was involved in an accident that resulted in serious injuries. She was rushed to the ER with multiple critical conditions, including significant head trauma. The impact of this event has been profound for the family. Kim now faces another difficult recovery process, including having to relearn to walk again. It's likely that she might not be able to care for Troy as she once did. This sudden change has added another layer of complexity to their already challenging situation.
Throughout these ordeals, the Bench family has shown incredible resilience. Now, they face the challenge of Kim's recovery while Troy continues his own health battle.
