Support Kim & Haley: Kathy's Final Wishes

Hi my name is Kim. My mom's name was Kathy McMahan. She was 50 years old and she was one of the best people that ever existed.

Kathy worked for the Clarke County School District for 20+ years in the cafeteria, mostly at Barnett Shoals. She loved her job and seeing all of "her kids". It broke her heart when she had to leave work.

In 2022, she was diagnosed with cancer and after a major surgery, countless rounds of radiation and chemo...nothing was working. She came home on hospice right before Christmas and we were so lucky that we got one more Christmas with her.

On the morning of January 8, 2025, mom left us. There's a big hole in our family now. We all revolved around her, she was our light.

My sister (Haley) and I are making this GoFundMe so that we can follow out moms wishes of being cremated. She wants to be placed in a dachshund cookie jar (those that know her will know that this is very on brand for our crazy, weenie dog obsessed momma). We plan to hold a memorial service for her when the weather warms up, she loved being outside so it seems right to wait.

We're setting the goal a little higher so we can afford the cremation, and put enough money aside to really celebrate the wonderful woman she was.
