No one can dispute the generosity of the loving spirit of Kim Biggs. Through chronic pain and illness, and life's many challenges, her focus has never wavered; since she was 12 years old she has lived to improve the circumstances of the communities that she serves. From Dreambuilders support for people who can learn more about their cultural history by visiting the Allensworth settlement near Bakersfield, to the preschool community at Good Neighbors Child Development Center receiving a visit from Santa including many Christmas surprises, so many have been touched by Kim's enormous heart and generosity. Many children and the homeless have received the gift of her endless giving. Many of us have been blessed with the gift of her friendship through her support of Mercey Springs Foundation and other collaborations, understanding that her soul purpose is caring for others.

We know that Kim's heart has been broken recently by not being available in person to manage the numerous holiday services she usually provides. Friends and family have stepped in to help, but it's just not the same and she has been terribly missed. And, even during her serious health challenges she has continued to spend her own money to ensure the wellbeing of those around her. But now is a time for Kim's friends, family, and the community to come forward to support HER. Having just been released from an extended hospital stay she finds herself facing a long road of medical intervention and many uncertainties. To start with, the family has had to quickly secure new housing, first staying in a Motel, where Kim did not have to manage stairs and then having to move to a 1st floor apartment during Christmas. This has resulted in significant unexpected costs in the middle of the holiday season, including extra food costs. Additional costs are certain to continue and accumulate, as Kim adjusts to the financial demands of receiving long-term medical treatment.

As she explains, in order to be of service we have to uplift, inspire, and empower each other; just as the delicate wings of the butterfly allow them to remain free as long as their needs are met. Please, let's open our hearts and our billfolds to help make sure our Inspired Butterfly has what she needs during this very challenging time.
