Support Kim Bigelow's Stroke Recovery Journey

My name is Julie Devine (Bigelow) and my mom, Kim Bigelow has recently suffered a Basal Ganglia stroke that has affected her left side.

My mom has been an RN at the Central Vermont Medical Center for almost 38 years, and always gives so much to everyone around her, especially her patients. She is also a talented writer and often writes poems for her patients to help them feel better. She is very caring, goes above and beyond for those around her, and is always the first to check on everyone else. She would never ask for help, but she has a long road to recovery ahead of her, and needs all the support she can get.

Currently, she is still in the hospital and will be going to acute care rehab in the near future, where she will receive intense rehab to get the movement and strength back in her left arm and left leg. She is left handed so simple tasks have been a challenge for her, but she has already improved so much in these last two weeks. She is an incredible fighter, she is ready to battle and take this head on.

My mom is an incredible mom, nurse, and friend and loved by so many people around her, if you couldn't tell by the huge display of flowers in her hospital room! With this long recovery she will be out of work for an extended period of time and will have extensive medical bills. So I wanted to create this GoFundMe, where all the funds will go directly to Kim, to take one thing off of her plate during this difficult time so she can focus on getting better and recovering.

My mom has spent her life taking care of others, now she needs us. This is our opportunity to come together and show her the same love and support she has offered so many others in her life.
