Support Kim in her Fight Against Cancer!

Donation protected
Kim, a single mother of 5, has been battling breast cancer, Multifocal Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Grade 3, since March 2021. There is no previous history of breast cancer in Kim’s family, to say her diagnosis was a surprise, is grossly understated. Kim became a single mother just weeks following her diagnosis. At that time, her youngest child, Quinn, was just two years old, Kaiden was 12 years old, and Isaak was 18 years old. Kim’s oldest son Samuel was deployed in Japan and was away on deployment during most of Kim’s battle. Her oldest daughter, Haleigh, is married with small children of her own. Many of the family responsibilities were suddenly resting on Kim’s 18-year-old son, Isaak.

Since the day Kim received a phone call from her family doctor on March 17, 2021, notifying her the results of the biopsy they performed days earlier, was in fact positive for cancer in two separate locations in her left breast, the lives of Kim and her children have not been the same.

Throughout Kim’s battle the last three years, she has endured countless surgeries, to include a double mastectomy, hysterectomy, multiple reconstructive surgeries which resulted in additional surgeries due to complications. Kim has endured 36 rounds of radiation that were scheduled, Mon-Fri, every day, for six weeks.

Kim endured over a year of chemotherapy infusions. Kim was hospitalized numerous times because of complications from this chemotherapy and routinely sought necessary assistance from a home nurse who still, to this day, goes above and beyond for Kim. Kim is still in active treatment and will be for another 5-9 years. Kim is not in full remission for another 5-9 years. Kim has at least one future surgery to undergo with a high probability of more.

When asked what message Kim would like to convey to her supporters, she simply responded with” I have been an independent and self-sufficient person my adult life, accepting help in any manner is not something I have ever excelled at or was comfortable with. Cancer is lonely, cancer is humbling, cancer can be devastating to your entire family, but it also shows you what’s truly important in life and creates opportunities for people to gift others with love, compassion, and community acceptance”. Kim urges everyone, including men, to be vigilant in their medical care and screening practices.

“In 2020, about 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide and 685,000 died. Every 14 seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer.” https://Bcrf.org/breast-cancer-statistics-and-resources. It’s just another statistic until, it’s you, your mother, your daughter, your best friend or sister receiving the call, loosing your breasts and your hair, accepting permanent changes to your physical, mental and emotional self.

We are raising funds because Kim continues to endure the debilitating side effects of cancer including hospitalizations and the need of home nurse visits. All donations would go directly to Kim’s bank account so it can be used immediately for medical expenses, costs, and living expenses as Kim continues to fight this battle against cancer.

Please donate all that you can to support Kim and her family as they continue on this journey towards healing!
