Hello family and friends, this is Kim’s mom Jenny.

I’m reaching out today because my daughter, her husband Steve, and their sweet daughter Madison are facing the hardest year of their lives, and they truly need help to make it through this difficult time.

Many of you know that late last year, Steve was unexpectedly laid off. Shortly after that, Kim began experiencing severe health challenges related to her PCOS, which triggered a serious decline in her mental health. After 15 years devoted to her job at the bank, she had to take a medical leave of absence to focus on stabilizing her health and well-being.

What none of us could have expected is that things would continue to spiral.

In the past couple of months, Kim has endured a nine-day hospital stay after becoming septic with a grade 4 infection in her colon. She has battled with her diabetes to some scary levels. She has since undergone two sinus surgeries to correct major blockages caused by significant undiagnosed allergies, the most recent of which led to repeated and terrifying hemorrhages that landed her in the emergency room multiple times. She is currently on strict bed rest, still packed from the bleeding, and awaiting further vascular testing on Monday.

Right now, neither Kim nor Steve are able to work. Steve has been by her side caring for her through every emergency, every frightening night, and every setback. He was working side by side with Kim’s dad, during which Greg went through another battle with prostate cancer putting him through radiation which has weakened him as well, resulting in a set back from work. Now because of everything happening all at once, they have fallen behind on rent and basic bills. They are doing everything they can to stay afloat, but they are at a point where they simply cannot do it without support.

Through all of this, Madison has been trying to stay brave as she watches her parents struggle and her mom fight through pain and fear. This has been so hard on her little heart, too, resulting in several issues with her own mental health and anxiety that no 10 year old innocent baby should have to ever deal with.

I am asking, as a mother and grandmother who loves this family more than anything, for help so they can keep a roof over their heads and focus on Kim’s healing. Anything you can give — no matter the size — will go directly toward rent, utilities, groceries, and basic necessities while they get through this crisis. Even sharing this page means so much.
