My name is Kim. I am 33 years old. On November 14th, I went to the hospital because it had been difficult for me to eat. They did an endoscopy and found I had an ulcer. The doctor decided to biopsy the ulcer and on November 17th, I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma (cancer of the esophagus). I tried to keep quiet and keep going as long as I could and take care of everything per usual, but now, I am officially out of work and I have my 3 babies who still count on me. After further testing and scans, it seems I'm in stage 4. Medical bills are racking up, child care expenses, cost of rent and electric, etc. I am asking for help as I've been in and out of the hospital and just depleted of any energy and independence almost. I start chemo on 12/30 and I'm sure I'll need to find someone part-time to help me in day-to-day care as my insurance doesn't cover it. I don't really know what all will be needed, but any donations that we can get, we will be very appreciative of and thank you in advance during this really tough time.
