My name is Kim. I am 33 years old. On November 14th, I went to the hospital because it had been difficult for me to eat. They did an endoscopy and found I had an ulcer. The doctor decided to biopsy the ulcer and on November 17th, I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma (cancer of the esophagus). I tried to keep quiet and keep going as long as I could and take care of everything per usual, but now, I am officially out of work and I have my 3 babies who still count on me. Medical bills are racking up, child care expenses, cost of rent and electric, etc. I am asking for help as I've been in and out of the hospital and just depleted of any energy and independence almost. I start chemo on 12/30 and I'm sure I'll need to find someone part-time to help me in day-to-day care as my insurance doesn't cover it. I don't really know what all will be needed, but any donations that we can get, we will be very appreciative of and thank you in advance during this really tough time. **Edit: So I finished chemo back in April. I scanned and the scan showed I responded well to the treatment and I was put in stage 1. My. Dr. told me since I had responded so well, we would do 2 more rounds of chemo and scan again to see where we are at and if radiation would be needed or if we could just remove the tumor. My appointment was on May 18th and that's when I was supposed to start chemo again. Well, my Dr. decided to not send me for chemo, only immunotherapy. We scanned again and it showed the cancer growing back. I officially started chemo again on July 6th. We have appointments set up for OSU and WVU for second opinions and I am needing help with the costs. My insurance is not covering everything. Im asking for help with costs with the bills, transportation, and other things needed for all of this. If you can help, its greatly appreciated. Thank you.
