Hi, my name is Kiké,
I’m a dancer and creative from London who graduated last year from London Studio Centre with a BA in Theatre Dance, but unfortunately, I suffered a major knee injury in my third year.
In the very first week of term, I experienced a full ACL rupture, and suddenly, everything came to a stop.
It was devastating watching others move forward while I was stuck, in pain, unable to join in, and feeling left behind. I couldn’t fully take part in my final year of training, missed out on key opportunities and performances, and felt completely sidelined.
This injury didn’t just affect my body, it shook my confidence. While my peers finished strong, I felt like I was falling behind, unsure of how or when I’d be able to continue. I was thrown; it changed the whole trajectory of my life and left me feeling so lost after graduation, unable to step into the industry I’d always dreamed of.
I miss dance every single day, and I’ve been doing all I can to stay positive and keep growing creatively while preparing for surgery.
After a long year of waiting, I finally have a date: I’m due to have ACL reconstruction surgery
this month, on 25th July,(just a few weeks away!) While I’m incredibly grateful to finally be getting this done, the recovery means I’ll be unable to work for a while.
That’s why I’m setting up this GoFundMe, to help with the essential costs, including:
• Medical equipment post-op
• Physiotherapy, osteopath and rehab sessions
• Transport to appointments
• Supplements and food to support recovery
• Living costs while I’m off work
My goal is to raise £2,500. Every donation no matter the amount would mean so much and will genuinely help me get back on my feet and doing what I love most.
If you know me, you know how much performing, choreographing, and creating mean to me. I’m determined to come back stronger to dance again, to keep creating, and to continue pursuing the path I love.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, or donating , it truly means the world.
With love,
Kiké x
✨ Help me move one step closer.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this would be a huge help.
