Support Kierra's Fight Against Stage 4 Lung Cancer
Donation protected
Many of you know my cousin Kierra has been dealing with a serious lung condition for the past two years. Ever since a work trip to an Air Force base in Anchorage, Alaska in June 2023, she knew something wasn't quite right. What started as an ordinary upper respiratory infection took a concerning turn. Despite repeated doctor visits and courses of antibiotics, she wasn't feeling better. It wasn't until she was hospitalized with chest pain in May 2024 (nearly a year later) that a diligent radiologist detected something unusual on her chest x-ray, a faint spot that had been overlooked by five doctors. During and after hospitalization, Kierra underwent extensive testing, including a scope of her lungs, biopsy, and countless labs, but the results were inconclusive. Each course of antibiotics failed to improve her condition, and the CT scans of her lungs continued to worsen. After over six months of treating what was believed to be a stubborn case of pneumonia, a second bronchoscopy in January 2025 revealed an alarming diagnosis: Stage 4 lung cancer.
Her case is rare, (not the type of cancer but her age), with only 0.2% of lung cancer cases affecting people between the ages of 20-34. Given the complexity of her condition and her young age, the best treatment option is at a specialized oncology clinic in Houston, Texas. This clinic offers the personalized care she needs, but does not accept insurance, which makes the financial burden significant.
We're reaching out to our friends, family, and loved ones to help alleviate the financial burden so Kierra can focus on what matters most: her treatment and recovery. Your generosity not only helps cover these costs but also gives Kierra access to crucial, life-saving care at a critical time. Every contribution brings her closer to the best possible outcome. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing the link and keeping Kierra in your prayers. Thank you for any support you can provide, it truly makes a difference.
