Hi! My name is Kiarra, I am a graduating senior from Hudson High School in Hudson, NY, and have been accepted to the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam! I will be a first-generation college student and have worked tirelessly to overcome every challenge life has thrown my way to make this achievement happen for myself.

To me, music has truly been a passion of mine since I was a child. Through a lot of dedication and support from my teachers, I advanced in music, and was able to pursue great opportunities such as being the lead in my school’s musicals and performing songs with my school’s band. One day I hope to be the kind of music teacher that provides those same opportunities and that same unwavering support that I got from my teachers to other children. I feel like Crane is where I can truly thrive and become as good a mentor for future young musicians as my teachers have been for me.

I have received the maximum in scholarships and grants that my school can provide, and as many others have experienced, there’s still a significant gap that my family is unable to reach. I know times are hard, but any amount donated would be so deeply appreciated! Thank you so much for helping to make this happen!
