my name is Kiarah, and I’m a proud first-generation college student Class of 2025 graduate!
As a Black woman, the oldest child, and the daughter of a mother taken too soon, I’ve carried more than just my dreams I’ve carried the weight of survival, responsibility, and hope.
After my mother’s passing, my siblings and I were placed in the care of my grandmother. What should’ve been a safe place became a battleground of emotional and physical abuse. Still, I refused to let it define or destroy me. I pushed through the trauma, through the silence, through the tears and I made it. I walked through it all with everything in me, because I knew it wasn’t just for me. It was for every child who has ever felt unheard, unseen, or unsupported.
I am now preparing for the next chapter in my life, and I need help. Whether it’s support through donations to this GoFundMe or purchasing something off my Amazon wishlist, anything helps. Your kindness will go directly toward helping me afford basic college necessities, living expenses, and tools to continue my education and healing journey.
For anyone who knows what it means to grow up fast, to lose young, or to dream even when you feel broken I hope my story resonates with you. I’m reaching out, not because it’s easy, but because I finally believe I deserve to be supported too.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for believing in someone like me.
With gratitude and love,
Kiarah
