Hello Family and Friends,
My name is Kia Thornton Miller. I am a Special Education Teacher and Behavior Therapist, soon to be a Behavior Specialist. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education. I am also certified in Early Childhood Education (P-3).
Currently, I teach a Kindergarten Inclusion class, which serves both general education students and students with special needs. However, for the 2025–2026 school year, I will be transitioning into a Self-Contained classroom setting. This new role allows me to dive deeper into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and work exclusively with children who have special needs and disabilities.
In this setting, I will be teaching students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other behavioral and developmental disorders. My goal is to create a nurturing, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and in life skills.
To make this vision a reality, I need your help.
I’ve created this GoFundMe page to raise funds for setting up my new classroom. I’ll need basic supplies such as a stapler, tape dispenser, pens, Sharpies, and other teacher essentials. More importantly, my students will benefit from materials like folders, pencils, pencil grippers, educational manipulatives, large blocks, LEGOs, sensory tools, a small trampoline, art supplies, and educational charts (alphabet and numbers).
Every contribution, big or small, will help build a safe, enriching, and inclusive space for my students to grow and succeed.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and support!
With gratitude,
Kia Thornton Miller
