Congratulations to Khy Cole, who’s headed to an Ivy League Institution! Khy, a proud Grambling State University alumna, has been accepted into Columbia University and awarded the Columbia HBCU Fellowship, a full ride to pursue her Master's in Nonprofit Management.

Since the age of 16, Khy has been a community pillar. She founded

A Walk In Your Shoes , a sustainable community-driven initiative donating shoes to those facing homelessness. She has partnered with public health officials and stakeholders, amplifying youth perspectives that shaped policy decisions across Los Angeles.

She has championed civic engagement through NAACP organizing and she continues to encourage her fellow Angelenos to use their voices and vote. Khy also mentors tomorrow's leaders in a youth development program, and many know her through her photography—capturing and preserving cultural moments across South Central Los Angeles.

Khy is an agent of change. She is committed to the communities that shaped her, and sees pursuing her graduate studies as an act of resistance in this current political and social climate.
