my name is Sara alot know me as gsxr sara or r1 sara and as many of you know this is my furbaby khona She just turned 6 on October 2nd she is the light of my life and a beloved member of my family and the riding community. I never thought id find myself reaching out for help like this but with unexpected and urgent veterinary bills for a concerning mass on her neck that requires more diagnosis and treatment.

On September 25th, Khona had an aggressive vomiting episode that seemed severe at the time. We took her to the emergency room about $1500 later they sent her home with multiple meds of course by time we got home she was like nothing ever happend then about a week later, we discovered a mass on her throat that was 7.8 x 7.5cm . We immediately took her to the vet, they preformed a needle aspiration which cost $300 that came back inconclusive. So the next step was a punch biopsy that cost was $1300. She went in for this procedure and almost lost her life due to bleeding out from the mass so they could not complete this biopsy. We were told to take her to a vet that offers more then they do so I called VCA they said they can help so we got her there only for the doctor to manhandled the mass and incision sight. By the morning Khonas mass more then doubled in size and is now leaking blood and fluid out her incision needless to say VCA will not be touching our baby again.

Khona is in need of an oncology specialist and more advanced diagnostics and imaging to rule out serious conditions such as an infection, an abscess, or even cancer like lymphoma or a mast cell tumor. The exact cause is still unknown, but it appeared fast and got worse when it was handled improperly making this pretty urgent.

She is currently on antibiotics, steroids and pain meds.

Khona is usually a playful, energetic dog, that enjoys riding on our motorcycle and geting pup cups and adventures. She usually grabs her purple bone shes holding and does laps throughout the house and proudly shows it to us around 8-9 pm every night for the past 6 years but has been unable to do so due to the mass is causing her discomfort/pain/sadness and loss of appetite after it was handled improperly a few days and It breaks my heart to see her like this. I've spent more time crying from seeing her go through this then I'd like to admit. I'm desperate at this point on giving her the best chance at recovery, but the costs are quickly adding up and im starting to feel it from how fast this is happening

We are looking to raise this money to cover her immediate and upcoming medical expenses. The funds will be used specifically for khonas

exam at the specialist and

Diagnostic tests like more bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasound ct scan.....

Potential surgery to remove the mass

Medications if and when more is needed

Update 11-12-2025 ended up at urgent care due to oozing from her incision cause unknown but vet managed to get more of it out and khona seems more comfortable and is able to walk to use bathroom now we are pending a referral to an oncologist
