Urgent Appeal: Support Khomra Village in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
We are raising $2,500 to support our friend Ahmed Cho’s village, Khomra, where more than 600 people have been devastated by the recent floods.
The floods destroyed the main water pipes, cutting off clean water for drinking, farming, and daily use. In addition, the JSR highway bridge at Baghicha was completely washed away by powerful floodwaters from the mountains.
With no outside aid, villagers are working with their bare hands, clearing paths and digging makeshift channels, desperately trying to bring water back to their community.
Water is life. Without immediate repair of the water system, families face hunger, thirst, and the loss of their fields, livestock, and trees, their very means of survival. The damaged section of the water channel stretches 500–600 meters, far too big for the villagers to fix alone. Restoring it will require new pipes or blasting through rocks: solutions that are far too costly.
Your support can make a life-saving difference. Together, we can restore access to clean water, protect crops, animals, and trees, and ensure the survival of nearly 600 people. Videos are shared on @loveistransformativewa that show villagers laboring tirelessly.
Please donate, share, and stand in solidarity with the Khomra Village so they can rebuild their water system and survive. May your generosity bring hope to a community fighting for its survival.
