Support Khoa's Medical Journey

As many of you know, Khoa was admitted to Albany Medical Center this past Saturday (9/21/24) after developing fever and jaundice. What was simply thought to be a response to a viral illness that would recover over time has turned into a nightmare for Tommy and Maureen, who do everything they can to keep him safe and protected.

Currently, they are battling steadily increasing liver tests and decreasing blood counts. The search for a viral or autoimmune cause so far has turned up nothing as his platelets continue to drop. It is not safe for him to be at home, and other, more rare diagnoses are being explored.

Being in the hospital 24/7 the last week is also complicating things for them financially. Maureen started her own business to be able to be there for Khoa as he grows up, and she has now had to put work aside for this week and the unknown future ahead, as medical costs continue to add up.
