Support Khaleesi's Life-Saving Surgery

My name is Stephanie, and recently, my 7-year-old female pit bull was unexpectedly diagnosed on October 25, 2024, with a Primary Pulmonary Lung Carcinoma on the right side of her lung.

It all started with a cough, and then came the blood. We rushed to Centerline Vet for an emergency appointment to see what was happening with our fur baby. Thinking it could either be kennel cough or pneumonia, our doctor decided to run an X-ray and found what appeared to be a significantly large bump on the right side of her lung. She immediately suggested that we take her to a specialist for further testing for a complete diagnosis. The surgical specialist, Dr. Anderson, noticed that she did, in fact, have a tumor on the right side of her lung that was significant in size but wasn't confident about what she exactly had as it could be a list of potential diagnoses. Another radiology tech also looked over her x-ray to perform an ultrasound-guided FNA Procedure and Cytology. We took her in for her procedure, and the test was sent out to the lab.

After spending $3000 out of pocket, we patiently waited for her results, which, three days later, we found out Khaleesi unfortunately was diagnosed with a Primary Pulmonary Lung Carcinoma. They then wanted to continue running testing (full body ultrasound, CT, etc), which was going to be a lot of money even before finding out about an actual surgery.

We found a more affordable surgeon named Dr. Jennifer Covey at OVRS Emergency Hospital. With the next step being surgery, we trust our doctor fully with our girl, but the price of everything is adding up even after taking out a care credit card, which is at its max just with visits and testing. As we are confident Lessi will be fine and back to living her best life with her two other pit bull siblings, it’s crucial we get this started sooner rather than later. As we are doing everything in our power to keep cost low and payment plans set, we’re asking for any help that can be provided in saving our sweet girl! As times are crazy we understand that not everyone can donate and that every dollar helps!

Khaleesi just turned 7 and is the sweetest, most loving pittie. She is unbothered by anything and unconditionally loves people, animals, stuffies, and family. She is an exceptionally super active dog who loves hiking through the woods and other outdoor paths. Leesi is a water baby at heart and loves to go swimming in the summer, and at the indoor pool. She loves greeting her parents with zoomies around the house when we come home from work. Leesi loves playing rough with her brother and being the Alpha dominant sibling out of the trio. She is the best and a one-of-a-kind companion that I will never be able to replace. Most importantly, I got her right before my father passed away and she was a huge emotional support animal for me. She and I share a deep, loving bond.
